Gary Ross's adaptation of The Hunger Games was thoroughly enjoyable. I am looking forward to seeing how the next installment, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire turns out under Francis Lawrence's direction. We have shared a lot of casting rumors lately, but here is an interview with Katniss Everdeen herself, Jennifer Lawrence.
In the interview with the LA Times, she talks about about the next installment will take things up a notch and offer a stronger sense of reality.
“The new movie will be very real, which is what I’m excited about. I really like his (Lawrence's) take, which is a lot of what I liked in Gary Ross,” she added. “It’s the realistic grasp of the story instead of all the details of the imaginary things.”
She has already met with the director and states that “He’s not trying to reinvent anything,” but will carry on where Ross left off.
Catching Fire begins films this fall to meet a release date of November 2013. I for one am looking forward to seeing her in more of The Hunger Games, as well as the sequel to X-Men: First Class. Do you like Lawrence as Katniss or Mystique?
