New NINJA TURTLES Movie To Start Shooting This Year

According to a recent report, the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie will start shooting in Vancouver late this summer or early fall. The movie will simply be called Ninja Turtles, as in this new version they wont be mutants, they'll be aliens. It also been described as being more grounded and gritty than the previous films.

Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) is set to direct the movie from a screenplay written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). The Ninja Turtles are expected to be motion capture CGI creations, which makes sense. It will be great to see these turtles brought to life in a way we've never seen before. I hope the designs are cool.

The studio is planning to release the film on December 25th, 2013.
