Will Smith To Direct Cain and Abel Bible Story
Will Smith is looking at taking on the challenge of adapting the classic Cain and Abel story from the Bible into a movie called The Redemption Of Cain. Smith is actually looking to direct and possibly star in the movie, so if everything comes together this will be his directorial debut.
The project is set up to be developed at Sony Pictures and is being produced by Overbrook Entertainment. Apparently the movie has been trying to get made for some time. This wont be his next film project, but it seems like it would be an interesting project for him to take on.
Cain was a crop farmer, and his younger brother Abel was a shepherd. Cain committed the first murder when he killed his brother after God rejected his offerings of produce but accepted Abel's sacrifice "from the firstborn of his flock and from their fats." To put things into perspective for the story, Cain was the first human born, and Abel the first to die.
What do you think of Smith directing this film?
