THE DARK KNIGHT RISES - Official Detailed Synopsis
After releasing a bunch of trailers and TV spots for the movie, Warner Bros. has finally released a full synopsis for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. Don't worry; it doesn't reveal anything mind-blowing. It's basically just a summary of what we've seen in the trailers, and everything we've already heard. The synopsis was released on the the film's official website.
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act.
But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.
Bane will be Batman's greatest challenge, and a lot of fans are wondering whether or not he will come out of this battle alive. Remember, Batman is willing to give everything to save Gotham City, and that might include his life.
This franchise comes to an end on July 20th, and I love that we know very little about what this movie will end up being. This is going to be quite an incredible moviegoing experience.
