THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Confirmed As A Trilogy

Movie The Amazing Spider-Man by

Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man hit theaters yesterday, and will likely easily claim the top box office spot this weekend. Trilogy's seem to be the name of the game in Hollywood, and it looks as though Spidey's web will be expanding for two more movies. ScreenCrush reports on a post from the official Facebook page for the movie that claims:

The Amazing Spider-Man is the first installment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero’s journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents.

It has been reported that a sequel is already in the works, and has a May 2014 release date. Most origin films set the stage for bigger and hopefully better sequels. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are currently working on rewrites for the sequel. It looks as though they could be setting the second film up for a third chapter as well.

I could be wrong, the box office numbers could not turn out as well as I expect. Green Lantern and John Carter are proof that big budget films can easily fail, but I think that the future is looking bright for more films. Would you like to see this version of Spider-man continue?
