Fox Confirms PROMETHEUS Sequel and More

Movie Fox by Joey Paur

There were a lot of big summer movies this year, some of which will be getting sequels, others will not. THR recently did released an article in which they break down what movies we'll see get a sequel and what movies won't.

One of the movies that's definitely going to get a sequel is Ridley Scott's Prometheus. I think we all knew it was coming, especially after how they ended the first film. They left it wide open! But Fox officially confirmed with them that they are indeed moving forward on it, but that they aren't rushing it. Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are both signed on to reprise their roles, and they hope to release the sequel in 2014 or 2015.

The studio is currently talking to new screenwriters to take over the project because Damon Lindelof most likely won't be available. Fox president of production Emma Watts said, "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it." So it looks as if Scott may end up back in the director's chair, which would be very cool.

I had a great time watching Prometheus regardless of all of the plotholes and scientist stupidity. I am excited that we will get to see the story continue. I want to see how far the take it because it could be incredible. Hopefully they get a couple of great writers to take it to the next level. What are your thoughts on a Prometheus sequel?

Here is a quick breakdown of what other notable movies are mentioned in the article...

Universal Pictures plans on making sequels for Seth Macfarlane's Ted, American Pie and Snow White and the Huntsman, despite the fact of the whole Kristen Stewart and director Rupert Sanders affair thing.

Sony Pictures will move forward with sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man, 21 Jump Street and a fourth Men in Black film.

Out of the films mention here, what are you most excited about seeing?
