Trailer for the Latest Vision of Dickens' GREAT EXPECTATIONS

Charles Dickens' classic novel Great Expectations is making its way back to the big screen in yet another adaptation. This time the film comes from director Mike Newell, and stars Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham CarterRobbie Coltrane, Jason FlemyngJeremy IrvineEwen Bremner and Sally Hawkins.

The first trailer has been released for the movie and it shows off a very different take on the story than what I've seen before. It's got a much darker tone to it, it actually looks like a great adaptation, especially with the ensemble cast. The last film Newell directed was Prince of Persia, but don't worry this movie looks a hell of a lot better. This is a great story and I'm looking forward to this latest vision of it.

Here's the synopsis:

The orphan Pip’s terrifying encounter with an escaped convict on the Kent marshes, and his mysterious summons to the house of Miss Havisham and her cold, beautiful ward Estella, form the prelude to his “great expectations.” How Pip comes into a fortune, what he does with it, and what he discovers through his secret benefactor are the ingredients of his struggle for moral redemption.

As of right now, the film has no U.S. distributor, but it's set to open in the U.K. on November 30th. Enjoy the trailer!
