Morgan Freeman and Elizabeth Banks to Headline LEGO Movie
The producers of the new LEGO film, LEGO: The Piece of Resistance, have certainly nabbed an A-list cast. Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman and The Hunger Games star Elizabeth Banks have sgned on for the upcoming animated action/adventure comedy from the directors of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street. Banks' currently unnamed character will play the "badass ex-girlfriend" of another unnamed character played by Chris Pratt, but Freeman's character will be named "Vitruvius", described as a cross between "Gandalf meets Mr. Magoo".
Freeman and Banks join Pratt in an unnamed role and Will Arnett as the voice of LEGO Batman. Although previously reported as up for the role, Channing Tatum will not be the voice of LEGO Superman in the film. The plot revolves around... "an ordinary Lego mini-figure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together."
