Trailer for the Jeff Buckley Film GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY

TrailerMovie by Joey Paur

Here's the first trailer for the new film Geetings From Tim Buckley based on the rise of musical artist Jeff Buckley. Buckley was a very talented musician and was a rising star, but he died tragically at the age of 30 in 1997. The movie was directed by Dan Algrant (People I Know, Naked in New York) from a script he co-wrote with Emma Sheanshang and David Brendel.

This story "follows the true story of the days leading up to Jeff Buckley’s eminent 1991 performance at his father’s tribute concert in St. Ann’s Church. Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he comes to understand the father who abandoned him. Culminating in a cathartic performance of his father’s most famous songs, Jeff’s debut stuns the audience and launches his career as one of the greatest young musicians of his time."

The movie stars Penn Badgely (Gossip Girl) as Jeff, Imogen Poots as Buckley's love interest, Allie, and Ben Rosenfield as Tim. It looks like Badgely does a pretty good job in the role. Check out the trailer and let us know if you are a fan of Buckley's music.

This is one of two Jeff Buckley movies being made.
