Trailer for the Jackie Robinson Biopic 42

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for their upcoming Jackie Robinson biopic 42 which was produced by Legendary Pictures. The movie was written and directed by Brian Helgeland (Mystic River), and it tells the life story of Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of the team's general manager Branch Rickey. The movie stars Chadwick Boseman as the famous baseball player who broke pro baseball’s color barrier, Harrison Ford plays Branch Rickey, Alan Tudyk and Lucas Black also co-stars in the film.

Robinson’s widow, Rachel Robinson, collaborated on the movie with the studio to make sure they got the story right. I'm a big fan of the history of baseball, and I enjoy a good baseball movie. 42 looks like a well made sports film, and I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm not sure why they feel the need to throw in some Jay-Z music, it seems to take away for the historical setting. I imagine the studio is looking to target the younger audiences.

The movie will be released on April 13th, 2013. Check out the trailer and let us know if you're excited about the movie or not!
