Henry Cavill Wanted For GODZILLA!

Earlier today we learned that Frank Darabont was hired to do a re-write on the script for Gareth Edward's Godzilla movie, and that producers Dan Lin and Roy Lee are being kicked off the project. Now some casting news has come to light.

THR mentioned that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was among several top actors to possibibly star in the movie. It was later clarified by the writer of the article via his Twitter that the offer was made last year and is no longer valid. Then Variety's Justin Kroll confirmed the other actors up for the movie, and those actors include: Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), Scoot McNairy (Argo), and Caleb Landry Jones (X-Men: First Class). The studio wants Cavill, and McNairy and Caleb are decribed as being "creative choices," which means they're the actors that the director thinks will work best for the story, while the studio thinks Cavill will make them more money.

Let's face it though, the main selling point and star of this film is Godzilla. I want to see this movie for the monster not for the actors cast in it, so I say choose the actor who best fits the character for the story. For a movie like this I really don't care who's cast as long as the movie is good, and with Darabont writing it, there's a good chance it will be.
