Blizzard All-Stars Name Changed, Again; Now HEROES OF THE STORM

Games Blizzard by Christian Mills

Blizzard’s world-crossing MOBA has changed identity once again. Originally Blizzard DOTA, which was changed for obvious legal reasons, it became the uninspired Blizzard All-Stars. Now, just ahead of BlizzCon, the name has been changed to the very Blizzard-like Heroes of the Storm. To announce and help explain the adjustment, they posted this silly animated short.

Yep, we've changed it again. Set aside whatever you think you knew about Blizzard All-Stars, and get ready for what's brewing at this year's BlizzCon (Nov. 8-9, 2013). http://heroesofthestorm.com http://facebook.com/blizzheroes http://twitter.com/blizzheroes Many thanks to Jon Burton of Carbot Animations for his work.

Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard’s DOTA 2 and League of Legends competitor, and I think it definitely could shake-up the current MOBA environment. Blizzard is one of those companies that has enough resources to create a game that is large enough and polished enough to generate quite a large following. I am excited to see what the World of Warcraft-creating juggernaut will be able to produce. There is no current release date, although I expect something to be announced at BlizzCon later this year.
