Paul Walker (Fast and Furious) has been tapped by Fox International Productions for the lead role in their Hitman reboot. Deadline reports that Walker will play Agent 47 in the live-action adaptation of the hit video game property from Square Enix. Skip Woods and Michael Finch (A Good Day to Die Hard scribes) wrote the script for the film, which is set to be directed by Aleksander Bach.
The story follows Agent 47, a genetically engineered elite assassin with the barcode tattooed on the back of his head. Filming is slated to begin in Berlin, once Walker has finished doing press for Fast And Furious 6. So get ready to see a bald Paul Walker. Perhaps he will get some grooming tips from Vin Diesel and/or Dwayne Johnson.
Timothy Olyphant starred in the lackluster 2007 film (also penned by Woods), which failed to ignite a feature franchise. I am interested in seeing how this new project develops for the primary reason that I like the idea of a movie about a badass assassin. Walker has the action chops to handle a role like this, which will not likely be too heavy of a gig on the acting side. What do you think about Walker starring in this new Hitman film?
