HBO Film has released the first trailer for their new original movie, Phil Spector. The movie was directed by David Mamet and stars Al Pacino sporting all kinds of crazy hairstyles that Spector has had over the years. Pacino has never looked so strange. I don't see Phil Spector, I just see Pacino wearing some ridiculous wigs.
Spector was a record producer famous for developing projects with a heavily layered "Wall of Sound." He was involved with releases from The Ramones, The Righteous Brothers, and The Beatles, among many others. Unfortunately, things ended badly.
The movie revolves around Spector as he was tried and convicted of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson for which he is currently incarcerated.
Written and directed by David Mamet, PHIL SPECTOR is his exploration of the client-attorney relationship between legendary music producer Phil Spector (Al Pacino) and defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden (Helen Mirren), who represented Spector during his first trial for murder. Mamet serves as executive producer with Barry Levinson. The cast also includes Rebecca Pidgeon, Jeffrey Tambor and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
