GOOSEBUMPS Movie May Have a Director

We've been hearing about a big screen adaptation of R.L. Stine's Goosbumps book series for years, and now it looks like Sony Pictures is ready to hire a director. The studio is currently in talks with Rob Letterman to direct the feature. He seems like he would be the go to guy for a movie like this. He's previously directed films such as Shark Tale, Monsters Vs. Aliens, and Gulliver's Travels. 

There's no word on what book or storylines from the series they will focus on but I'm sure they've picked a good one to roll with. The Goosebumps series has sold more than 300 million copies worldwide, second only to the Harry Potter series in total sales. There's a huge audience out there for this. A lot of people grew up reading this series, so I think this could end up being a very successful movie franchise.

I enjoyed the books, and I love that it's like a Twilight Zone style series for kids.
