Lorenzo di Bonaventura Discusses RED 2 and JACK RYAN

Right now, it seems that anything that mega producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura touches turns to gold. Collider was able to sit down with LdB and get the low down on two of his upcoming releases, RED 2 and Jack Ryan. Here are a few of the more interesting segments of the interview.

When asked what he thought of RED 2, here is what he had to say of the finished product:

It’s really fun, it’s really good.  I think the best measure of it is that all the cast members that we added—Byung Hun, Catherine Zeta Jones, Anthony Hopkins, David Thewlis—we added some really great actors and they really killed it.  So I think we made, I say “a richer broth.”  And Dean has a great sense of comedy and there’s just some laugh-out-loud funny stuff in it.  I really love it, but you never know what it’s gonna feel like until you show it to an audience, which is next week.

I can’t wait to see this movie. I really regret not seeing the first film in theaters. From what I have seen, the sequel seems to be just as fun as the first. I definitely intend on seeing this one on the big-screen.

Ok, so here is a look into my guilty-pleasures box. I am a huge fan of the Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series of books. I started with reading The Hunt For Red October and I have been hooked ever since. I am really excited for Chris Pine to take over the role. I am hoping that he will be able to breathe life back into the franchise. Here is what LdB has to say about Pine’s portrayal of the character:

I’ve seen the film cut together.  I think the biggest question when you make a movie that’s about a guy is, “How’s Chris Pine?”  Chris Pine nailed it, he just nailed it.  He’s just picture perfect all the way through the movie, I think, and we showed it to one audience so far and the audience just loved him in it.

He goes on to say that the movie is grounded in current events. I am excited for this to come out as well. It just seems that Lorenzo has this whole movie making thing in the bag. RED 2 will be released on August 2nd of this year. Jack Ryan will be out on Christmas. As for me I am excited to see both of these movies. Are you?

Until Next Time…

Billy Out!
