Ever since Jamie Foxx has taken on the role of Electro in Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, we've learned that deep down the guy is a geek that enjoys many of the same things we do. I'm pretty sure he's also the Oscar winner that has been bugging Todd McFarlane about getting the Spawn film made. We've now learned that Foxx is set to write, direct, and produce a new horror anthology series for the SyFy Channel! He might even star in it!

According to the report it will be a 5-episode series that will premiere during Syfy’s annual 31 Days Of Halloween programming marathon this October. There's no title for the series yet, but it's described as being in the same vein as Tales From The Crypt and The Twilight Zone. It will tell "creepy morality tales with themes such as envy, jealousy and superficiality." Foxx had this to say in a statement,

This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life. Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!

Syfy's Mark Stern added, "Jamie Foxx’s passion and unique perspective will transform these universal insights on the human condition into emotionally potent and truly scary cautionary tales." I love a good horror anthology series, and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of fun he's planning! What do you think about Foxx taking on a series like this?

Mike Ferris (Terminator: Salvation) and John Pogue (Army Wives, Everwood) will also be working with Foxx on writing the series.
