Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is set to direct a noir style crime thriller called Night Film. The movie will be an adaptation of an upcoming book written by Marisha Pessl.
The book isn't set to be released until August, but it "tells the story of an investigative journalist named Scott McGrath who begins looking into the death of a beautiful young woman that was originally deemed a suicide. The woman turns out to be the daughter of a reclusive, cult horror film director named Stanislas Cordova, and McGrath finds himself on a journey of revenge and truth."
Sounds like an interesting story. I love the tone of noir films, and this sounds like it's gonna be a really good one. I like the premise and setting of the story and I think this could end up being a really solid flick. I also love the fact that it revolves around a cult horror movie director.
