THE GREAT GATSBY - International Trailer and 3 New Posters
Here's a new international trailer and three more posters for Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. I'm actually surprised by how many posters and trailers we've seen for this movie. The studio seems to be marketing it like a big tentpole movie. Even though it's got massive star power, I'm not sure if there's that much appeal out there for a movie like this among general audiences. Other than myself and a handful of other people I'm personally not seeing a lot of excitement for it. Hopefully the marketing push pays off for them.
The cool looking big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Elizabeth Debicki, Jason Clarke, Amitabh Bachchan, and Jack Thompson.
It's set to be released on May 10th, 2013. Are you excited for this movie, and do you think there's a big audience for it?
The Great Gatsby follows would-be writer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy (Carey Mulligan), and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.
