Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz will most likely end up starring alongside Denzel Washington in the Antoine Fuqua-directed film The Equalizer. According to the report, Sony Pictures said Moretz has a strong reading with Washington, and they are going to offer her the part of the lead female role, Teri.
The studio was originally looking to cast a twenty-something year old in the role. Moretz, who is still a teenager, must have just blew them all away because they made an exception. They redrew the role, and she will play a young prostitute in the movie, which the report says is "reminiscent of Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver." Moretz is a great young actress that is really taking on some edgy movie roles. I'm sure she's going to be great in the part.
The story centers on Robert McCall, a former spy turned private detective. For those of you not really familiar with the original TV series, here's a description.
Robert McCall is a tough-as-nails, no-BS private eye who went into business for himself after leaving the shadowy agency he once worked for. McCall works on behalf of those whose problems the police cannot - or will not - get involved in. His card reads, 'Got a problem? Odds against you? Need help? Call - The Equalizer'. Through 4 seasons, Robert McCall went up against some of the worst elements that New York City had - including gangs, mobsters, crooked cops, vigilantes, stalkers and even psychopathic stockbrokers.
What do you think of Moretz taking on the role of a young prostitute?
