David Fincher's 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA on Hold

Come on Disney, not 20,000 League Under the Sea! This is one of the few remakes I've been incredibly excited about because David Fincher is directing it. The studio has now put the film production on hold. The movie was supposed to start shooting this summer in Australia. Now it looks like it won't start production until 2014, which means we won't see it get released until 2015 at the earliest.

Disney is still planning to make the film, but what worries me, is that during the time it's on hold things could just fall apart even more and Fincher will drop out. Now if that happened, it would take all of my excitement out of this movie.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, delays are reportedly due to casting issues. Brad Pitt was looking to star in it at one point, but he ended up turning it down. Then there were rumors of Channing Tatum was replacing him, but that hasn't been confirmed.

I really hope that Fincher stays involved with the project. I really want to see him do this one as I know he would make an incredible film out of this classic story.
