First ELYSIUM TV Spot and New Info on Neill Blomkamp's CHAPPIE

Sony Pictures has released the first TV spot for Neill Blomkamp's highly anticipated sci-fi film Elysium, and it features a few bits of cool new footage that you'll want to see. You can bet your ass that we'll end up seeing a few more trailers and TV spots before the movie is released in August.

We've also got some new information of Blomkamp's next film, a sci-fi comedy called Chappie that centers on a "ridiculous robot character." It's now been revealed via Den of Geek that the movie is based on his popular 2003 short film Tetra Vaal. The director let the news slip himself, saying that it's "basically based on Tetra Vaal." I think it's great that he'll be expanding this universe he created. I have no doubt that the movie is going to be amazing. Blomkamp is one hell of a talented filmmaker.

Sharlto Copley will reteam with the director again to star in Chappie, which is set to start production after Elysium is released on August 9th.

How awesome is that!? I remember seeing this short for the first time and being blown away by it. For those of you who haven't seen it, or just want a reminder, you can watch it below the TV spot!
