Mondo Poster Art for THE HEAT

ArtPosterMovie Mondo by Joey Paur

I'm not very excited about Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock's buddy cop movie The Heat, but this Mondo commissioned poster created by The Dude Designs is actually kind of cool. I'm still not going to pay any money to see the movie though. Here's what director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) had to say about the poster in a statement:

"I am a huge fan of the work Mondo does so I was really pushing for them to do a poster for 'The Heat,' When they sent me their take I cracked up as they really nailed it."

Here's what the artist said:

"'The Heat' poster was an exciting design to take on. Galvanized by the awesome power of VHS cover art I set to work creating the ultimate 80s action buddy cop visual, drawing out the humor in an explosion of over the top action."

The film also stars Demián BichirMarlon Wayans, and Michael Rapaport. It comes out on April 5th 2013.

Here's the synopsis:

Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies. From Paul Feig, the director of “Bridesmaids.”

Do you think the movie looks funny?
