Tom Hardy to Star in Takashi Miike's THE OUTSIDER

Japanese director Takashi Miike (Ichi the Killer, 13 AssassinsAudition) is in negotiations to direct a post-World War II film called The Outsider. Miike is an incredible director, but what makes this film production even better is that Tom Hardy will be taking the lead role.

Joel Silver is producing the film, which is based on an original idea by John Linson. The story is described as being an epic that chronicles "the life of a former American G.I. who becomes part of the Japanese yakuza." The yakuza are members of the transnational organized crime syndicates in Japan and are notorious for their strict codes of conduct and very organized nature.

Hardy is blowing up as an actor right now, and he's taking on a lot of diverse roles. He next stars in Mad Max: Fury RoadAnimal Rescue with Noomi Rapace, and Child 44. He's also considering playing Elton John in Rocketman.

This sounds like a fantastic project for both talents! I'm sure they will end up delivering an amazing movie.
