CABIN IN THE WOODS Coming to Life This Halloween!
The Cabin in the Woods is easily one of my favorite horror films ever. I freakin' love that film, and I'm excited to report that The Cabin in the Woods will actually be coming to life this Halloween! Of course, you'll need to be in Orlando Florida to experience it.
Universal Orlando is adding the "cabin" to its 23rd annual Halloween Horror Nights event, which runs from September 20th until November 2nd. Visitors will not only get to walk through the cabin, but will also go through the Facility, the cube cells, and will be given more background on the mythology surrounding the movie. Michael Aiello from Universal had this to say in a statement:
"We are building the cabin completely. You’re going to walk through a forest to get there. You’re going into the cabin. You’re going to go into the cube cells. We’re literally taking everything we can in the film and giving you a kind of best-of montage of the film with this kind of linking story. You’re going to be in the control room when merman attacks."
As far as the experience goes, the maze will place guests as a “new hire” at the Facility. They will experience certain scenes from the film from a different angle, and they will get up close and personal with some of the crazy monsters featured in the movie. Aiello went on to explain,
“In the maze, we’ve got many that were in the forefront of a lot of the scenes — the ballerina, the Sugarplum Fairy, the Hell Lord, but also too there are a couple rooms where we’re kind of featuring some of the creatures that were just on the screens in the control room of movie.”
This sounds like it will be an incredibly fun experience. I wish they would set up something like this at Universal Studios Hollywood. Why does Florida get all the good stuff?
If you still haven't seen The Cabin in the Woods, you should definitely watch it!
Thanks to The Mary Sue for the heads up!
