First Close Up Look at GODZILLA's Face
Legendary Pictures set up a crazy cool promo event at Comic-Con for their upcoming remake of Godzilla. I'm going to get to go through it tomorrow, so I don't know what it is yet. I do know, though, that they have transformed a section of Downtown San Diego into a Tokyo street that includes underground decontamination bunkers and abandoned skyscrapers looking out over a destroyed city.
Apparently at the end of the little adventure they take you on they give a first look at the giant lizard. Well, that image of Godzilla has been released online, and it gives you your first close-up look of Godzilla's face. It ended up having a much more classic design than I expected. It's more reminiscent of the 1984 and 1989 designs.
The image comes from Deadline, who explains that the shot is not from a scene in the film, but "you do get an up close and personal look at the monster as he almost sticks his head though the window-like screen." I can't wait to see this awesomeness for myself!
An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston, and Sally Hawkins. The movie hits theaters on May 16th, 2014.
The Comic-Con panel takes place on Saturday, July 20th, in Hall H from 10:45AM – 1:15PM.
