How CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 Bridges the Gap to AVENGERS 2

I always enjoy seeing how Marvel connects their cinematic universe together, and Captain America seems to be a main gear in the Avengers storyline. In a recent interview with The Huffington PostCaptain America: The Winter Soldier co-director Joe Russo discussed the upcoming film, and how it serves as the connective tissue for The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

"There's a very strong connection in the narrative between the events of the end of 'Avengers' that drive this film -- and there's a very strong hand off to 'Avengers 2' at the end of this movie. And Kevin Feige's whole thing is that this is the biggest bridge of all of Phase 2 movies; it really is. It does involve the most amount of Avengers of any of the films in Phase 2, and it has sort of a, you know, there's a very big shift in the universe at the end of this movie."

Damn! That sounds pretty freakin' exciting! I can't wait to see what this "big shift" is! Do you have any ideas of what it could be?

I got to see the first footage from the film at Comic-Con, and it was pretty freakin' epic! This is going to be a huge film, and I was really surprised by some of the stuff that was shown. It's going to be a huge action-packed political thriller. There was so much awesomeness!

The movie hits theaters on July 4th, 2014.
