Jamie Foxx Wants to Star in SPAWN Reboot
Over the last several years, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has been talking about making another Spawn film. He's shared a lot of ideas about what he wants to do with it, and it sounds great! He's also talked about an Oscar winning actor that wanted to be a part of it. McFarlane would never say who that actor was, but we assumed it was Jamie Foxx. Well, Foxx has confirmed that he is the guy, and that he's "aggressively pursuing" the project.
During a interview with Movies.com, Foxx was asked about other roles he would like to take on and this was his response:
"Spawn is one, yeah. And Mike Tyson. Those are two roles I would just love to do. I’m aggressively pursuing them."
I would love to see Foxx take on Spawn! I think he would be great in the role, and I hope one day it will happen.
The only problem is the guy has been dragging his feet with it. It seems like at this point we are waiting for McFarlane to finish the script. Earlier this year he said,
"I continue to write a page here and there. As I’ve said before, I’ve got a guy waiting on the sidelines who’s an Academy Award-winning actor who phones every three weeks going ‘Todd, where’s the script? Where’s the script?’… He came out to the office, he gave me his pitch, I gave him my pitch, and he’s like ‘Fine, let’s do your gig.’ The pitch I gave him was that we could then do, like, ten of these for the next ten years, and he wouldn’t have to be 22 for the rest of his life."
Unfortunately, at the rate McFarlane is going on this film it's probably never going to happen. He's been talking about this thing since 2008.
If it does actually happen, what do you think about Foxx taking on the lead role?
