Drew Struzan Documentary Set to Premiere at Comic-Con
There's a new documentary that centers on legendary poster artist Drew Struzan called Drew: The Man Behind The Poster, and it's headed to San Diego Comic-Con! The movie is set to premiere at the annual geek gathering of awesomeness.
The screening will be held at San Diego’s Gaslamp 15 on July 19th. After that it is set to open in NYC on August 16th along with a few other markets, followed by a VOD release in the fall.
Struzan is responsible for creating the iconic posters for classic films such as Indiana Jones, Back To The Future, Star Wars, Blade Runner, The Goonies, First Blood, The Thing, The Muppet Movie, the Police Academy series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Hellboy, and more. The artist announced his retirement back in 2008, but since then a few people have gotten him to do a couple things, like a poster for Jon Favreau's Cowboys and Aliens.
The doc was directed by Erik P. Sharkey and also includes interviews with George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Michael J. Fox, Guillermo Del Toro, Steven Spielberg, and many more.
I really hope I get a chance to see this while I'm at the convention.
