THE CROW Creator Joins New Film Adaptation
In an attempt to make fans of The Crow happy, Relativity Media has hired the creator of the comic, James O'Barr, to serve as a consultant on the upcoming remake.
F. Javier Gutierrez is set to direct the film, and Luke Evans is on board to play the title character. According to Variety the film is scheduled to start shooting early 2014.
Relativity has also announced that O'Barr and Gutierrez will be at Comic-Con and have a panel in which they will discuss the film and their plans for it. O'Barr had this to say in a statement,
"It is important for Crow fans to understand that Relativity, Javier, Luke and the entire team are working on a new adaptation of the book itself. I believe that this movie will stand alongside Brandon and his film as a valid work of art, and I look forward to collaborating on the project."
I think O'Barr's involvement is the smartest thing the studio could have done, because I think it will change the attitude of the fans. So does it? Does the fact that O'Barr has joined the production change your opinion on this remake, or are you still pissed it's happening?
