New Trailer for THE WAY WAY BACK - Go See This Movie!
I really hope that you take the time this summer to go see a great little indie coming-of-age dramady called The Way Way Back. This was one of my favorite movies from the Sundance Film Festival, and it hit in theaters this weekend.
It's a change of pace from all of the big budget tentpole action films, but to be honest, this movie is better and more entertaining that most of them. We've now got a new UK trailer for the film that stars Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, AnnaSophia Robb, Sam Rockwell, Maya Rudolph, Amanda Peet, Rob Corddry, and Liam James.
THE WAY, WAY BACK is the funny and poignant coming-of-age story of 14-year-old Duncan’s (Liam James) summer vacation with his mother, Pam (Toni Collette), her overbearing boyfriend, Trent (Steve Carell), and his daughter Steph (Zoe Levin). Having a rough time fitting in, the introverted Duncan finds an unexpected friend in gregarious Owen (Sam Rockwell), manager of the Water Wizz water park. Through his funny, clandestine friendship with Owen, Duncan slowly opens up and begins to finally find his place in the world—all during a summer he will never forget.
Everyone in the movie gives an amazing performance, but Rockwell ends up giving one of his best of his career. It also gives us a very different, dark side of Carell. Here's what Ben had to say about the film in his review, which I completely agree with.
This could end up being one of the funniest movies of the year... We've seen a lot of films with the same themes as this one, but every element comes together very well and coalesces into a really special coming of age story. The Way, Way Back is strong, confident, dramatic, and laugh-out-loud funny.
You can also watch our video review of the film here if you want. Please go see this movie if it's playing in a theater near you. I promise you won't be disappointed.
