Fan Made STAR WARS Ship Poster Series
Check out this awesome series of Star Wars fan made art featuring some of the main ships in the film series. They were created Vesa Lehtimäki, who has done a ton of great Star Wars art and LEGO photos over the years, some of which you can check out right here. Here's a note from the artist:
"These posters are really not much you've not seen before, by that I mean that they are channeling the works of numerous other designers before me, like the always wonderful Justin Van Genderen and Sana Sini, to name some. I tried to avoid direct copying (I don't like that), but at some point I realized I cannot make these that much different after all, originality is hard, but I try."
"The Millennium Falcon is one of the most famous and original spaceships ever designed. It's asymmetrical which was rare before it came along. Here the Falcon shoots up against Tatooine twin suns backdrop."
"The snowspeeder is a peculiar macine, aerodynamically totally awkward for atmospheric flight, yet it couldn't be more at home when roaring above the frozen mountains of the planet Hoth. One of the coolest ships ever – literally. Here, a steep ascent against the three moons of hoth."
"The X-wing, probably the fastest looking fighter ever served in space. With the biggest cannons, no less. The design was somewhat based on a 1970's dragster car chassis, no wonder it looks fast. Here's the legendary Red 5 getting ready to lock S-foils in attack position and dive down to the trench of the Death Star."
"The Y-wing, what can I say, it's my personal favourite. I really like it's design because it's so tangible, I can easily imagine one in my garage ready for taking it out to spin, I can almost smell the hot oily engines. Here pictured against Yavin and it's moon, Yavin 4."
