Samuel L. Jackson to Play Villain in THE SECRET SERVICE
Samuel L. Jackson has joined Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, and Michael Caine in director Matthew Vaughn's next film project The Secret Service. Jackson will be playing the villain in the story.
Before Jackson came along Vaughn was trying to get Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio in the villain role, but things didn't seem to pan out that way.
Vaughn co-wrote the script with Jane Goldman and it will be an adaptation of the Mark Millar and David Gibbons graphic novel. The Secret Service has been described as Vaughn and Millar's version of Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. The story follows a James Bond-type super spy named Uncle Jack who works for MI6. He ends up taking his slacker nephew Gary under his wing, and mentors him in tradecraft in the hopes that Gary can change and become an MI6 agent.
Jackson is awesome in everything he does, and it will be great to see him play a villain again! He's always made a solid villain. What's your favorite Jackson villain role?
