Another Jedi Set to Return for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII

The Star Wars: Episode VII casting rumor train has left the station, and it's moving full steam ahead! We recently learned that Emperor Palpatine would be back as a ghost Sith Lord in the new movie along with a few other little details that you can read about here

Thanks to our friends at Latino-Review, we've got another casting update that some of are sure to be very excited about. There might be another Jedi returning, and if you don't want to know, then don't read ahead. But I will tell you that's it's kind of obvious news.

SPOILER ALERT:

Apparently Ewan McGregor will be reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi's ghost in the film. So do force ghosts just get younger and younger over time? Or will they make McGregor look more like Sir Alec Guinness? Either way is fine, I just think it's cool Obi-Wan could be coming back. I hoped he would.

I have confirmed this with three close sources that are on the project and they all confirmed to me that Ewan McGregor would be back as a Force Ghost in the upcoming sequel trilogy.

McGregor has said that he would be down to return if they asked him, and it looks like that could have happened. The site goes on to give us one more really cool tidbit of information...

The interesting part of the conversation I had with my source was that McGregor also wants a solo standalone film! Whether he gets one or not is still up in the air. The other question now is whether or not Hayden Christensen will return.

A stand alone Obi-Wan film needs to happen. There's such a great story to tell there that fans would love to see, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for that. As for Hayden Christensen returning to reprise his role... I can understand if they do it, but if they end up replacing him with someone else, I won't care.

What do you think about the possible return of Obi-Wan in Episode VII!?
