Marvel Has Movies Planned Through 2021
It's no secret that Marvel has been planning their movies years in advance. They've already set release dates for two untitled movies for 2016 and 2017. I'm hoping they announce what these films are at Disney's D23 Expo later this week, but I'm pretty confident that one of them is Doctor Strange.
That's just the tip of the iceberg though! Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige says they've got things mapped out even further down the road, all the way through 2021! Here's what he had to say in an interview with Wired,
“I could arguably say what we’re planning for the year 2021. Will that happen? I don’t know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening.”
So back in 2006 Marvel knew they would be doing an Avengers sequel and the long-awaited Ant-Man. Feige continued, saying,
"Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone. Now we have to prove to the studio that we’re more than just these five characters, these five franchises.”
Which tells us they are finally going to start expanding the Universe and bringing new characters to life, which is awesome! Other than Doctor Strange and Black Panther, what Marvel characters would you like to see make their big screen debut?
