Nintendo Inspired Illustrations for 3NES Art Show

ArtGames by Eli Reyes

We previously featured artist James Gilleard's work on the site as part of the Daft Punk Rediscovery art show, and we have quickly become fans of his work. Here are three fantastic pieces Gilleard did for the 3NES art show that opened this past weekend at Bottleneck Gallery.

Upon first glance, the nearly symmetrical pieces seem simple, but they are deceptively complex. The faces are filled with detail and the shadows throughout sort of sneak up on you. The game backgrounds are equally as inspired as the interpretations of the characters themselves.

Be sure to check out more of Gilleard's work on his official site.
