23 JUMP STREET-MEN IN BLACK Crossover Moves Forward With Director James Bobin

Back in 2014 we learned that Sony Pictures was planning to develop a crossover film that would combine the world of Men in Black with the 21 Jump Street franchise. According to Variety, the studio is moving forward with their plan on this movie and they are in talks to hire James Bobin to direct the movie. Bobin is the same director who directed The Muppets, The Muppets: Most Wanted, and the upcoming Disney film Alice Through the Looking Glass

Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed the first two Jump Street films, which were both hilarious. They've got so much going on right now, though, that they aren't able to direct this crazy crossover movie. They are currently directing the Han Solo standalone movie for Lucasfilm. They are still attached as producers, though.

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum will return to reprise their roles as Jenko and Schmidt, respectively. Unfortunately Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones won't be back to reprise their roles as Agent Jay and Agent Kay. The plan in to reboot the franchise with younger talent. You can bet every young actor in Hollywood will be going after these Men in Black roles.

There are no details regarding the story but there is a script that is written and ready to go when they're ready to go. Several directors have met with the studio for the job, but sources say Bobin is their number one choice. Are you excited about crossover movie?
