Abracadabra: NOW YOU SEE ME 2 Conjures Up Its First Trailer
I thought Now You See Me was mostly fine, but I was annoyed by what I considered to be an excessive use of CGI in most of the magic tricks. Unfortunately, this brand new trailer for Now You See Me 2 looks like it's going all in on the CGI magic. It does have a solid cast, though, including returning actors Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine, along with new-to-this-franchise talent like Lizzy Caplan (whose character replaces Isla Fisher's) and Daniel Radcliffe, so maybe the sheer likability of this cast will be able to make up the CG tricks and illusions. I'm sure there were plenty of people who actually liked those illusions the first time around and don't share my complaint, and if they dug the first one, they'll probably dig this one as well. And don't forget: a third movie is already in development, so don't be surprised if this one ends on a cliffhanger.
One last thing to note: the title, as it appears in the trailer, is still Now You See Me 2, but we were under the impression it was Now You See Me: The Second Act.
Now You See Me 2 hits theaters on June 10th, 2016.
