According to Ben McKenzie, Jerome and Other GOTHAM Villains Could Return
I guess Gotham is a world in which villains might never truly die or go away. During a Q&A panel at Wizard World New Orleans this past week, Gotham star Ben McKenzie was asked if fan-favorite villain Jerome would return to the series even though he was killed off earlier in the season. The panel moderator then asked McKenzie if he could at least put in a request to see the character again. McKenzie gave a very surprising response:
"Not only can we but we might. I can't say definitively but yes. I'll put it this way: almost nobody that you've seen go away is dead. They are all able to come back."
Well that’s interesting! I guess that means characters like Theo Galavan and Fish Mooney could make a comeback any time now if it’s what the story calls for. Could Bruce Wayne’s parents still be alive as well!? Who knows where this maze of mysteries will lead, but I’m excited to take the journey with these characters.
McKenzie went on to comment on the young man who played Jerome, saying that:
"He was terrific wasn't he? Cameron Monaghan, the actor, just crushed it.”
We all suspected that this character would turn out to be the Joker, and I guess if he comes back from the dead, there’s still a chance that he might. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Gotham returns February 29 on FOX.
