Adam West and Burt Ward Providing Voices For New Animated BATMAN Movie
One of the fondest memories I have as a kid is watching the 1960s Batman movie again and again. It was one of my favorite things to watch, and since this was years before Batman: The Animated Series came out, it served as my major introduction to The Dark Knight and The Boy Wonder. I loved the colorful costumes, the crazy gadgets (remember the shark repellent Batspray?), and the onomatopoeia text cards that would pop up during fight sequences ("BAM!" "ZIP!" "OOF!"). At the time, there was nothing better.
The original Batman TV series turned Adam West and Burt Ward into household names, and the show is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year. The Dynamic Duo was at a convention in North Carolina this weekend to announce at least one new animated feature film is on the way, and that they'll be providing the voices for their old characters. Check it out (via AICN):
That sounds pretty awesome to me, but it's still unclear whether this animated project will be drawn with the '60s versions of Batman and Robin in mind, or if they'll be providing the voices for updated or different versions of the characters. As AICN points out, DC is currently publishing a Batman '66 comic, so maybe they can utilize that same look for the movie (or movies) that will be released next year. We'll keep you posted with more info when we hear it. Excited to hear these guys get back into character once again?
