ALLIED Trailer: Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard Are in a Dangerous Romance

Well, I thought we were going to get through the day avoiding an article about how Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt today, since every tabloid and gossip rag online is flipping out about that "news" right now. But Paramount has essentially forced our hand by choosing today, of all days, to release a new trailer for Robert Zemeckis' upcoming World War II spy romance Allied, which stars Pitt and Marion Cotillard, so I suppose it's worth a mention at this point.

Some rumors peg an on-set romance between Pitt and Cotillard as part of the reason for the divorce, but I saw another report deny that, so I don't know what to believe. Frankly, it's none of my business, and the only way it's even remotely relevant to what we do here is if this movie possibly mirrors real life events in Pitt's relationship, it may prove to be a fascinating point in a career retrospective later on down the line (with art imitating life, or maybe the other way around). Either way, Paramount's ice cold for releasing this trailer today.

Allied hits theaters on November 23, 2016.

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in #Allied. In theatres November 23rd. ALLIED is the story of intelligence officer Max Vatan (Pitt), who in 1942 North Africa encounters French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Cotillard) on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Reunited in London, their relationship is threatened by the extreme pressures of the war.
