Amblin Entertainment Set to Develop an Alien Invasion Film Called THE FALL
Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment has seen an influx of new projects recently, and a lot of them are worth getting excited about. Back in the 1980s, Amblin offered audiences awesome adventurous films that were grounded by family elements, and that's a tradition that is driving them today as they find new projects to develop.
Deadline is reporting that they have just picked up a spec for an alien invasion film called The Fall. The report offers us the following plot details:
In the midst of an alien invasion, a freshly divorced couple must survive a dangerous real-time journey on foot from downtown Atlanta to the suburbs, where their young children are home alone.
As a father of three girls, if I were away when a disaster struck they first thing I would do would be to do everything I could to get home to take care of my kids. This film sounds like a nightmarish scenario for any parent, but with Amblin at the heart of it, I know it will turn out to be a fun and entertaining adventure.
This is one of several projects Amblin in currently developing. Some of the other projects include a big screen adaptation of The Gates; a Walter Cronkite Vietnam film; a family horror film from Eli Roth and Jim Carrey called Aleister Arcane; an adaptation of the sci-fi novel Brave New World; and a secret project that Peter Jackson is developing.
So, as you can see, we've got lots of great-sounding films coming from Spielberg and his company!
