An ASSASSIN'S CREED TV Series Is in Development and It Could End Up on Netflix
The Assassin's Creed movie was easily one of the worst films to come out in 2016. What a waste of an opportunity to do something great. I thought that with the level of talent involved with the movie it would have at least been entertaining, but it was a boring movie. Assassin's Creed shouldn't be boring!
Well, I hope you're ready for another attempt at an Assassin's Creed adaptation because a TV series is currently in development. During a Reddit AMA the head of content for Assassin's Creed at Ubisoft, Aymar Azaiza, revealed the news and when asked if he could provide more details he said:
"Nope. It's like the movie guys, we take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wander[sic] if it's on our plan... YES."
As for the series possibly coming to Netflix, that information came from a report last year from Reuters when Ubisoft chairman Yves Guillemot said that the gaming company was in talks with Netflix over a series. That series is most likely Assassin's Creed.
Even though I didn't care for the movie, it doesn't mean a series adaptation would be as bad. Yeah, there's a chance it could be just as terrible, but I think Assassin's Creed would work better as a series anyway if they handle it right and actually get talented people on board who are actual fans of the game.
There's so much rich material to work with and that material could be explored in a TV series about modern day assassins jumping into the past embarking on different missions in various time periods. Like Quantum Leap, but Assassin's Creed style!
After that movie, it's understandable that excitement for a series like this might be non-existent, but I am curious to see what they end up doing with it. What do you all think?
