Anthony Michael Hall Tried to Sneak Onto The Set of VACATION To Watch Beverly D’Angelo's Nude Scene
Anthony Michael Hall recently admitted during a panel at Fan Expo Chicago that while shooting the 1983 comedy classic National Lampoon’s Vacation, he tried to sneak onto the set to see his co-star Beverly D’Angelo film a nude shower scene. But, he ended up getting caught in the process!
Hall was joined on the panel by D’Angelo along with Christie Brinkley, Randy Quaid, and Dana Barron at the event. During the panel, D’Angelo and Brinkley talked about how, to this day, fans come up to them to talk about watching their nude scenes in the movie.
D’Angelo said: “I get a lot of guys who say I was the first boobs they saw.” Brinkley added: “Somebody walked up to my booth yesterday and said, ‘I just love you in the naked scenes.'” Is it crazy that I think it’s crazy that this is something people actually say to these celebrities? It just seems so awkward.
Anyway, Barron, who played Rusty’s sister, Audrey, then went on to throw Hall under the bus saying that he got busted trying to sneak onto the set and watch D’Angelo film a nude shower scene on set. Hall then went on to admit that this was all true.
He went on to say: “Should I pick up the story right here? So, I got busted because I tried to sneak onto the set when Beverly was doing the shower scene.” He then cited the SAG-AFTRA strike as the reason he would not offer any other details on the story.
Barron also shared with the fans that Brinkley was not actually nude during that pool scene in the movie with Chase. She said: “Christie wore a suit that made her look nude, but she wasn’t nude because she was, or is, a top model and you don’t want to reveal everything, she used to say.”
D’Angelo jokingly adds: “I’m still realizing that I was the only person who was really nude. Now I’m rethinking my whole life.”
