AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Fan Poster - No Strings on Me

I try my best to avoid trailers for films that I already know I’m going to see. However, when leaked versions of the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer prompted Marvel to quickly release an official version almost a week earlier than planned, I thought I might as well check it out. I assumed that I’d just be rewatching the footage they screened at Comic-Con. I was wrong. Marvel didn’t phone it in, packing the trailer full of exciting new footage that showcases the film’s expansive scope, deliciously darker tone, and a slew of don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-them teases.

I’m always going on about how the music in trailers play a huge part of conveying the tone of the movie. While Joss Whedon bringing his A-game to this giant blockbuster certainly speaks for itself, the chilling version of “I’ve Got No Strings” from Pinocchio playing in the background and James Spader’s haunting delivery of a similar sentiment has really resonated with the fans. So much so that artist Doaly whipped up this poster (that uses “No strings on Me” as a tagline) at a speed that would make Quicksilver proud… provided he’s not laying lifeless somewhere in that pile of rubble. You can see the official poster Marvel released here. Age of Ultron takes over theaters on May 1, 2015.
