AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR May Include Another Big Villain Other Than Thanos

I know we've still got a long ways to go before we get to see the two-part Avengers: Infinity War film. But that's not going to stop Marvel from doing all of the development work that they have to do, and I assume they already have an outline of the story they will tell and what characters will be involved.

It's no secret that Thanos is going to be the big bad main villain in the story, but it seems like there's another important villain that may be involved with Thanos and his plans.

Before I move on I'm going to throw out a SPOILER warning for those of you who don't want to know who this villain is. You should know though that this is just a rumor, and the following information has not been confirmed.

The news comes from acting-auditions, who says that "auditions for new and supporting roles will be taking place in Los Angeles CA. The film is the first in a two-part sequel in which Thanos plays a major role, along with Magus." And there it is!

They go on to explain his role in the story saying "Adam Warlock's bad side, the Magus, separates from his body and assembles the Infinity Gauntlet. Mangus creates doppelgangers of Earth's heroes as part of his plan to recreate a universe of evil."

They don't offer any details of where they got this information from, but the information is stated in a "matter of fact" kind of way. The is definitely the first time I've ever heard of Magus being involved with Infinity War, but it makes sense that he'd be involved now that it's out there. If it's true, I assume Adam Warlock will eventually be introduced into the MCU.

Here's is a more detailed description of Magus thanks to Comic Vine:

The Magus was originally a future version of Adam Warlock created by the In-Betweener who came to believe that he was a god, and led his fanatical followers on a crusade to conquer the galaxy and eliminate all who were "impure". This impure consisted of all non-humanoids and certain 'undesirables' such as trolls. He uses a church called the Universal Church of Truth to attain his whims; this church treating him as a god. He used his Black Knights to protect the Church and his Grand Inquisitors to seek out those who would oppose the Church and terminate them. Adam Warlock learned of this and that the Magus was actually his darker self. He knew it was his own responsibility to stop this madness. He was trapped by the Church and they attempted to convert him to their faith but his will proved too strong. Warlock had the assistance of Gamora and Pip the Troll. He was also aided by an unlikely ally, Thanos. Warlock was able to travel his own timeline and find himself before he was to become the Magus. He absorbed himself into the Soul Gem and erased the Magus from existence, and all knowledge of him and the damage done by his Church were eliminated from the universe.

In regards to Universal Church of Truth, I hope that that the Guardians of the Galaxy take them on in the sequel! What do you think about the possibility of Magus joining in the fight against the Avengers in Infinity War?
