Badass Trailer for a Maori Action Movie Called THE DEAD LANDS
I've never heard of The Dead Lands until today, but you have got to check out this heart-pouding trailer for it! Holy shit, this movie looks incredible, and I'm so excited to eventually see it. The trailer does a great job of getting the adrenaline pumping.
The feature comes from New Zealand and it tells a story about the Maori warriors. The movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, and it was met with positive buzz. The movie looks action-packed and I love that they used the actual Maori language to make the movie. It helps give it that authentic feel. I just can't get over how badass it looks. Here's the synopsis:
After his tribe is slaughtered through an act of treachery, Hongi - a Maori chieftain's teenage son - must avenge his father's murder in order to bring peace and honor to the souls of his loved ones. Vastly outnumbered by the band of villains, Hongi's only hope is to pass through the feared and forbidden Dead Lands and forge an uneasy alliance with the mysterious 'Warrior' a ruthless fighter who has ruled the area for years.
The Dead Lands was directed by Toa Fraser, and it will be released sometime in 2015. Thanks to Firstshowing for the heads up on this.
