Batman Teams With The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a New Comic
Batman and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been staples of entertainment for years. Through multiple generations, the two properties have evolved, adapted, and thrived for new audiences, delighting kids and adults alike with movies, TV shows, live stage shows, and every conceivable marketing opportunity under the sun. But they both started as comic books, and now the two will join forces in the pages of a brand new comic series called Batman/TMNT Adventures.
Nerdist brings the news, and they describe the story like this:
The story will follow Batman, in the style we know and love from Batman: The Animated Series, in his pursuit of his usual band of foes after they break free—as they always seem to do—from the confines of Arkham Asylum. The assorted criminals will find their way across canons into New York City, where Bats will have no choice but to call upon the help of the pizza-loving goofballs devoted to keeping the Big Apple safe. It won’t only be Batman’s foes who stand in the way of justice, however; the Turtles’ collective of enemies will step in to ensure the longevity of this new taste of chaos. And of course, we’re likely to see some contribution from the heroes’ pals—perhaps Robin, Alfred, and Commissioner Gordon will lend a hand, ditto April O’Neil and Casey Jones.
Writer Matthew K. Manning and illustrator Jon Sommariva are teaming up to bring this crossover to the page, with the first issue of this six-issue limited series expected to debut on November 9, 2016. What do you think? Excited about the possibilities of these two franchises colliding?
