BATMAN V SUPERMAN - Opening Scene Details and New Photos
Thanks to Total Film, we have three more behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We also have a better version of the magazine cover that doesn't include a mess of text, plus some details from Henry Cavill regarding the film's prologue. He explains that it will showcase the events of Man of Steel from Bruce Wayne’s perspective, which is what we've basically already seen in the trailer. The following comes from Comingsoon.net's forum:
“What happens there is one of Bruce’s buildings gets destroyed and he’s trying to save all the people inside the building and he can’t. So he is this angry person who fears what Superman may do. Why are they just going to trust this super-powered alien? What if he does decide to turn against us?”
Ben Affleck added:
“[Batman] has found himself in a place of harboring a tremendous amount of rage for Superman. So it’s how he got there, and what that’s done to him, and what that’s done to people around him like Alfred, who are, I think, very scared and worried for him. It’s something that’s interesting and new.”
Affleck went on to discuss the possibility of him directing a solo Batman movie, which he is currently scripting with Geoff Johns.
“If I could make it work, yeah, Obviously that would be like a dream. The trick is, as to any movie, is to make sure that you – if you’re going to direct it – that you can make it good. You’ve got to have the right idea and the right take on it… Broadly speaking, it’s something I’d be open to, for sure. It’s a very exciting idea.”
I'd really like to see Affleck direct a Batman movie. I think he would give fans something incredible. It's rumored that he will star in at least three standalone Batman films, and if that's true, I'm sure he'll have a hand in developing all of them.
As far as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice goes, it's shaping up to be a film that I think fans will love. Even though I didn't really care for Man of Steel, I'm really rooting for this one. I want it to be a great film so bad. With Chris Terrio (Argo) having worked on the script, I think there's a strong possibility we'll get that great movie.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open in theaters on March 25th, 2016.
