Belle Solo, Darth Maleficent, and Other Disney/STAR WARS Mashup Characters
With's Disney purchase of Lucasfilm, the company cemented its intention to completely dominate blockbuster filmmaking. That's why I'm sort of shocked Universal has already set records for the highest grossing year in film history (we're not even out of August yet!), but I suspect that as soon as the Star Wars movies get underway and Marvel's Phase Three kicks in, Disney will climb that mountain and remain there for the foreseeable future unless some kind of fluke takes them down.
Another side effect of Disney buying Lucasfilm is all of the mash-ups that have been created in response to it. NerdApproved points us to this cool set from artist Isaiah Stephens that popped up on Zimbio which features a batch of Disney's animated characters reimagined as Star Wars characters.
